Offer non-credit course(s) or a series of workshops that teach basic computer programming skills. These would be optional for students and available at no additional charge on top of normal course load. Specifically designed to help all Davidson students (regardless of major or field they are looking to pursue) to skill up in basic programming/tech/coding skills (which are increasingly demanded by potential employers). To launch this type of program, Davidson could work with a trusted third-party provider (which is highly vetted by our faculty/staff) or alternatively, we could design and build our own offering (pros and cons to both approaches). The Hurt Hub@Davidson could be the home of these courses, providing physical space and operational infrastructure. If it makes sense, we could also open up courses/workshops to local community for a fee (creating new opportunity for revenue generation).
